Office Space Website Launched

APRIL 05, 2010

Office Space website is launched

The website for Office Space has finally been uploaded! I'm ninety-nine percent certain that it will work 100% of the time (otherwise use the refresh button, bunky). This will, of course, be continuously updated and improved in the future.

Newton's Laws of Motion Flash Animation

MARCH 28, 2010

Newton's Laws of Motion Promo

This is the final project for my Physics class. Given an estimate, I would say this is about fourteen hours worth of work in total. I chose to do Newton's laws of motion because I felt the subject matter was appropriate to exploit in Flash; because what better way is there to describe motion than through motion graphics, right?

Office Space Website Sneak Peek

I attend a class called Web Animation that focuses primarily in Adobe Flash. For our quarter-long project we're required to create a website for a movie that's been released in the past twenty-five years. I chose to do Office Space because I own the DVD and I was confident I'd be able to find a lot of content to work with (which, luckily for me, turned out to be true). I was surprised to find out that a movie as culturally impacting as Office Space doesn't have an official site of its own on the web as of today. I found a few fansites that were helpful, though.

Anyway, the sample image I have linked here is just a sneak peek of the continuing project. I expect to have it completed by the end of March so stay tuned.

ILIS Program Board Identity Designs

FEBRUARY 09, 2010

Mashup of ILIS Program Board logos

As of Sunday, it was the 2-month anniversary of my website being online. And so, feeling ashamed that I haven't posted any news in over a month, I figured I would celebrate (and redeem) by sharing a few identity designs that I made a few months ago for the Program Board at my school. The ILIS Program Board was in its very young beginnings last quarter and needed some identity. I decided to stand up and throw my hands in for the project and this is what I managed to conjure up.

µ-Ziq Fictional Website

DECEMBER 24, 2009

Preview of the µ-Ziq fictional website

During my last quarter at school, I created a fully-functional, fictional website for the musician, µ-Ziq. I've been told that I should try submitting it to Mr. µ-Ziq as he currently doesn't have a personal website. He does have one for his record label, however, at Planet Mu Records, which I believe he's content with.

Web Work for CRN

Preview of the CRN webpage design

Design for: Curatorial Resource Network

Despite having to work on finals this week, I managed to churn out a design for a client of mine, of which has yet to be approved. I've actually decided to work on this pro bono so I'm unsure if the term, "client" still applies.

Pixel Art

DECEMBER 14, 2009

Pixel art bathroom

This is an accurate, pixel-form rendering of my bathroom.

Before I discovered the miraculous abilities of Photoshop, my skill set was entirely invested in MS Paint. After five years of dabbling in Pixel Art, I had a mastery skill in dealing with isometric, raster graphics.

I recall myself whining during my senior year of high school about how much more capable Paint was compared to Photoshop CS2. Of course, my understanding of Paint compared to Photoshop at the time was a pretty good indicator as to why I would even say that. Today, I can conclusively admit that Photoshop CS3 is obviously far superior to the humblized, meek MS Paint and I would gladly (retroactively) slap my highschool self for uttering such blasphemies.

Photography

Streetlight behind leaves

This was a photograph taken back in July of a streetlight in a parking lot standing just a few blocks away from my house. This is part of a larger photoshoot series where I walked around my neighborhood at midnight taking snapshots of various scenery and architecture.

I know, devious, right? At one point, I was being given funny looks from afar by an elderly woman who was saying goodbye to (presumeably) her guests before they were about to leave in their car. I remember looking back after I continued down the street and seeing her on the phone pointing in my direction. I'm pleased to admit nothing more happened after that.

I may upload some more selected work from that photoshoot at a later date. I just wanted to demonstrate my handyness with an SLR camera.

More Scribbling

Laptop Baby Photoshop Drawing

I had a dream six days ago about this baby who continuosly ate coins and tiny, styrophoam spheres. Thus spawned the Photoshop interpretation of that dream. Huzzah.

Scribble

Green digital abstract photoshop

Here's a scribble render I did in Photoshop the other day. It's got a retro-computational Tron feel to it. Nifty enough for a post, I thought.

YAY I FEEL ACCOMPLISHED Gold

I managed to upload my design today. YES, I know the links are inactive. But that's how this works. In the words of the infamous Dr. Leo Marvin, "Baby steps". I also plan on having a lot more stuff. I dunno specifically, just more stuff.

Special thanks to FatCow for being a pretty cool guy. I was encountering some trouble last night during registration but it got taken care of just a short time after I went to bed.

I was pretty surprised how easy this was to set up. The free domain name feature is certainly an awesome touch. Okay bye.

Who?
Grant is just a cool kid in the Chicagoland area who incidentally makes cool things.
